Three treatments, similar promises, very different jobs. Here is the honest version, from a salon that does all three and will talk you out of the wrong one.
| Hair Botox | Keratin | Nanoplasty | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it does | Repairs and conditions from the inside | Coats the strand and lays the cuticle flat | Penetrates and smooths at low heat |
| Best for | Damaged, dry, over-processed hair | Frizz and long blow-dry times | Coarse hair wanting a sleek finish |
| Effect on curl | Softens it | Relaxes it, roughly a third to a half | Straightens it furthest of the three |
| Typical lifespan | 2–3 months | 3–5 months | Comparable to or longer than keratin |
| Time in the chair | About 3.5 hours | Allow a half day | Allow a half day |
Your hair is the problem, not your morning routine. If it feels straw-like, snaps easily, or years of colour have left it dull and porous, hair botox rebuilds it. It will soften your curl and kill frizz, but it will not straighten you. Anyone selling it as a straightening treatment is overselling it.
Your hair is healthy but exhausting. Thick, frizzy, forty minutes with a hairdryer and it is ruined by the first damp day. Keratin is the best value of the three and the one that most changes your daily routine.
You want genuinely sleek hair and your hair is coarse enough that keratin will not get you there. It penetrates rather than coating, works at a lower heat, and gives the straightest result of the three.
None of these is permanent straightening. They all fade gradually, which is a feature — no harsh regrowth line, and no commitment you cannot undo. If you want permanently straight hair, that is a different service: our precision permanent straightening and rebonding systems.
Sulphate-free shampoo. Not a preference — sulphates strip all three treatments out. The difference between two months and five is almost entirely what you wash your hair with, and how soon after the appointment you first wash it.
Fifteen minutes, free, no obligation. We look at your hair, tell you which of the three suits it — or that none of them do — and quote you before you commit.
Book a free consultationNot at once. But people often start with hair botox to repair, then move to keratin or nanoplasty once the hair is in better condition.
All three involve heat sealing, so application matters. Done properly on suitable hair they improve condition rather than harm it — which is why we assess before we book you in.
Yes, but sequencing matters. Tell us at the consultation and we will plan the order.
Keratin if frizz and blow-dry time are your problem. Hair botox if your hair needs repairing first. Value depends entirely on which problem you actually have — the free consultation is the fastest way to find out.
