What nanoplasty is

Nanoplasty is the newest generation of smoothing treatment. It uses very small molecules that penetrate the hair shaft rather than sitting on top of it, and it works at a lower heat than older smoothing systems.

In practice that means a smoother, straighter result than hair botox, with less stress on the hair than a traditional straightening service. It is the treatment we reach for when someone wants genuinely sleek hair but their hair cannot take a harsh process.

Who it suits

  • Coarse or thick hair that hair botox will not take far enough
  • Anyone who wants a sleek finish rather than just less frizz
  • Hair that has been through a lot and needs the gentler route to smooth
  • People who found keratin wore off faster than they wanted

What happens on the day

  • Consultation. We check whether nanoplasty is genuinely the right call, or whether hair botox or keratin would serve you better.
  • Clarifying wash. Removes build-up so the formula can penetrate evenly.
  • Application. Applied in fine sections and left to develop.
  • Sealing. Dried and flat-ironed at a controlled temperature.
  • Finish. Rinsed and styled so you see the full result before you leave.

How long it lasts

Generally longer than hair botox and comparable to or longer than keratin, again depending on how you wash it. It fades out gradually rather than leaving a regrowth line.

Aftercare

Sulphate-free shampoo, and avoid salt water and chlorine where you can. Your stylist will give you the specific washing instructions for the formula used on your hair.

Common questions

Is nanoplasty better than keratin?

Not better — different. Nanoplasty penetrates and gives a sleeker result at a lower heat. Keratin coats and is excellent for frizz control at a lower price. Which is right depends on your hair, which is what the consultation is for.

Will it make my hair completely straight?

It gets closer than hair botox or keratin, but it is still a smoothing treatment rather than permanent straightening. If you want permanently straight hair, ask about our precision straightening and rebonding.

Can I have it on coloured hair?

Usually yes. Bring your colour history to the consultation so we can sequence colour and smoothing correctly.

How does it compare to hair botox?

Hair botox repairs and softens. Nanoplasty smooths and straightens. Side-by-side comparison here.
